I just got home from work and tried it. I held the bottom and backed the compression nut all the way off. The pyro tube would not budge. I couldn't raise it or lower it. So, I put some more anti-seize on the compression nut and tightened it until I won't move anymore. The pyro tube will still move ever so slightly(barely) inside of the compression nut.
If that is the only problem I have with this setup, then it was worth saving the $400 doing the install myself.
