fastest VP truck and some other questions

It will be cheaper to put a cummins in the 11's.
And if you exclude the cost of the truck, a dmax might actually be cheaper to hit 11's. An allison will not last in an 11 sec truck, and the bottom end and top end will go after a bit. The most reliable 11 sec truck out there would be a smoky p7100 pumped truck with a good head with all the goodies like valve springs.
But if you daily driveable, you need electronic tuning. A dmax with efi live streetable cause you can load up a weaker tune for daily driving.
I honestly think that if you want to drive around all day everyday with 600+rwhp, the cummins is the only powerplant that will last. But if you want 600+ at the track just for bragging rights and 500 rwhp for everyday, then dmax or a highly upgraded and expensive powerjoke might do the trick.
Just get that 99', put a few bucks into it, and take on the challenge of 11's without nitrous or water meth, that would be a fun buildup!
Besides, this new Quad Race Box is gonna help out a lot. It is streetable, user friendly, and very potent!

I want to be able to drive with 600hp and be able to turn it down but the parts for a Ford are so expensive. So it looks like the 99 is the way to go. I want to stay with the cummins because of the abundance of parts available in the price difference for the parts.
What will I need to upgrade on the engine to make it safe for 600 hp?
I looked at Quad's website but did not see any info on the race box. Where can I find info on it?
The only info I saw was that beta testing thread is that all the info thats out for it?
On edit how much hp/tq will the Quad race box add?
thanks,
Andrew

Well, it looks like Bnold has a 600 HP truck in the works. Looks like he is running stock turbo over the top of an S400 with Rip Rook's setup at Source Automotive, around 2500 bucks. Mach 6.5's, Nitrous, and Beta Adrenaline Box. Looks like he is running a set of ARP studs too. With a 24valve VP truck, you are not going to have the fueling to turn lots of RPM so not a lot of head work is needed. A girdle on the block will reinforce it, but if you have a 53 block, might not want to put any effort into it. If it cracks it is trash and if it holds, it holds. Just cross that bridge when you get there.
You are right, the Adrenaline Box is not out on the market yet, but it will be soon enough. It looks like it's gonna add somewhere between 160 and 200 HP on a stock truck. A little less with big injectors due to the fueling limitations of the VP pump. If you wanna go big, get some Machs or DDP's those seem to be the favorites of this site. You need twins if you want streetability, rips twins will get you started or you might want to bite the bullet, fork out 5K and get a big set of twins.

even with a HRVP or a SOVP are the pumps still being pushed to their limits with mach 6s or 7s?
Is anyone working on VP that is not being pushed to their limits when more fuel is needed?
thanks,
Andrew

Yes, 6's and 7's are at it's limits. Yes people are working on a monster VP. Tolerances are so close in a VP that I doubt they will get it done in the next year. It would take deep pockets to make a production quality rotary style injection pump that will beat a SO VP-44.
