Faster turbo spool?

Is there anything I can do to make my stock turbo spool faster on the bottom end? To me, it seem sluggish up to about 10psi boost.

Smarty will take care of that but with your mods, you might want to consider getting a bigger turbo. You should be well past the limits of the stock HX-35.

complicated question... what is your ultimate goal for the truck? are you still in search of more power? you'd certainly want to get a turbo that was either upgradeable or big enough for where you want to be. are you after quick spool with good street manners? you could be looking at something that won't support a lot of horsepower but will meet the other criteria.

More power would be a plus...but I don't need it. I just want a little faster spool from a stop. I pull a 5th wheel, racecar trailer and a boat with it so it needs to be a good option for the mod's I have to make a good towing combo.

My combo of Smarty and M4s produces essentially ZERO lag with the stock turbo.

That said, this turbo is too small, so I'm getting a leg benefit that is misleading. A real turbo would have at least a little more lag that this setup.

Still, I never find myself wishing the turbo would spool. It's nearly instantaneous.

Since your original question is about increasing spoolup under 10psi or so, I'd say that the Smarty is your best bet.

See if you can't find a way to get a demo or test drive to see if it delivers what you are looking for.

I dare you to try it and not buy

It's OK to dare me.....just don't double dog dare me.

I don't know anyone in this neck of the woods who would have a Smarty.

Hmmmm.....maybe I could sell my DDTTPM to my bro-in-law and put some more with it to get the Smarty. I wouldn't need the DDTTPM with the Smarty would I?
