fass and walbro
ok i am fixing to get a new fp setup. i have looked at both the fass and the walbro and dont know what the differences are. i have a budget of around 450 so if you guys can give me some advice that would be great. i have to go to florida in 3 weeks so i want to go ahead and get one on here so i can keep it to the floor and not have to worry about fp issues. right now on the stock pump i idle around 14 and it drops to 5 wot.

I've had my FASS, HPFP on for a little over two years, and it has worked great. Idle at 19, cruise at 18, and cannot pull it below 16 with my current setup. Also, the install is pretty easy and straight foreward.

Only maintenance is changing the fuel filter @ 50,000 miles.
Send me your e-mail address if you want a side by side comparison of the components. Both systems work well but the FASS, or the HPFP, are high quality and over engineered....just the way I like important systems.

You can get an HPFP for less than $450. Check http://www.mwfi.com/FASS/FASS_Diesel_Filters.html as a pricing example. I have nothing to do with this company, just showing the pricing.

Not a hard install. The only "speciality" tool I could have used was an angle drill. I'm pretty sure the new kits have everything you need except the tools.

They do have everything. Except the tools of course. Just put one on my buddies rig yesterday. I intend to replace my Walbro with one eventually.

Not the same at all. The FASS is all metal and much better built. It is also a different style of pump. Walbro will not take hardly any crud at all in the fuel without ruining them because of the plastic innards.
