FASS system question

FASS system question
Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere in this forum, but I am considering the purchase of a FASS system & HRVP44 injection pump and wanted to clear something up first--my understanding (please correct me if I'm wrong) is that it pumps, filters, heats, and de-aereates the fuel while also removing water, but what happens w/ the water in fuel sensor during the conversion? Also, does anybody have any pics showing their completed FASS installation so I can get ideas for a mounting location? thx in advance...

The FASS mounts near the fuel filler and a 3/8 line runs to the VP. You bypass the stock filter housing, most guys just remove it completly.
The FASS has heater water conections but you shouldn't need them. You'll like the HR pump!

Here's another thing I've been wondering about but forgot to add it to the original post--are the FASS filters readily available at auto parts stores or is that something I'd have to go to a diesel performance vendor for? The closest vendor I can think of is probably a good hour drive from me (although once I actually start enjoying driving my truck again maybe that won't be such a big deal, or take as long for that matter...)

There are the install instructions for your year truck. This will give an idea of what is involved.
From our testing, a fuel heater is not needed for most of our customers out there. If you are below 0* F all the time for days on end, you might want to consider it, but honestly if you use additives and plug your truck in (like you should be doing when possible), you should be fine. Some in AK and Canada are using pre-heaters before the FASS. That seems to work as well. I think the stock fuel heater is over-rated to some extent and doesn’t operate as some perceive. I don’t believe it’s on all the time from what I have read on here....just when the WTS light is on. Someone have any more info on its operation?
WIF light, from my experience, is not needed. If you regularly drain your water Sep, (Every other fill up or so) you should be just fine. I'm going on 3 years with out any issue. BUT as stated, you can run through your stock filter head if you want to.
As stated, the 150 series filters can be crossed and found pretty much anywhere. They might not be in stock, but places can get them. My suggestion is to find out what filters you are needed and see if a parts store has them in stock before you need one!
The 95 series Fuel filter is made just for us. BUT any FASS dealer can get you a filter and one can be shipped stright to your door if needed. The 95 series Water Sep can be found at a FG dealer.

How am I to know how many gph I need? My truck is bone stock for now, but I plan to do some performance upgrades in the not-to-distant future and I want to have a fuel delivery system my truck can "grow into". Nothing too crazy; maybe double the stock hp/torque figures and still a daily driver with no chance of starving the HRVP44 I plan to get. Would the 150gph setup be overkill for this application? What about fuel line-3/8" or 1/2"? Sorry about so many questions, but I've been so displeased with my truck for over a year now what with the dead pedal issue (I didn't even know what was causing the poor performance until very recently) that I just want to get it fixed up right and then some so I can enjoy driving it once again (and so my wife doesn't have to witness any more displays of road rage over something my *own* vehicle does!!!)

Ill make it very easy for any 2nd gen 24V. All you need to keep up with ANY VP-44 is a 95 GPH pump. Period. Ask Rjohnson...he had a 95 on his 600 HP monster and only droped 1.5 PSI. We upped him to 150 GPH for grins....made no differance. BUT, you can run a 150 with out any issue as well......i have been for 3 years now. But its not needed for an ISB engine.

I'm ready to pull the trigger and get a FASS. I just read the post regarding the quiter motor. I'm not too concerned about noise since I am running a straight pipe.
My question is this. Since it is available with a longer warranty, how can I be sure I am getting the new style pump from a dealer?
I have seen prices from $559-$639 for the FASS system. I obviously want to keep my cost down.
Does anybody know if Dieselpp price matches?
Edit: I didn't realize Diesel-Dan IS Dieselpp....
Can I buy factory direct? How much?
