Fass install problems

Diesel-Dan,
Need some help, have tryed for 4 hours to get the fuel line off . Still can not get it to come off. Any ideas would help.

Also does your shop install or do you have someone you recommend in the central Iowa area. Not above driving a little bit to get it done.

I found it easier to reach over top of the tank from the center of the truck. Also after fighting it for a while I had my wife push the two little clips together from the side of the truck, while I pulled it off from the center.

I didnt realize that the little clue clip comes off for the new fitting. So just twist it till you can get one hand on it, and one on the hose ( i cut my hose off about 8" from the tank)

What model Fass are you using? I have the 150 series and didn't have to worry about trashing the old one....thankfully! Just don't break the plastic nipple on the tank. I had the same problem but I tried to cheat and get it done without dropping the tank or lifting the bed of the truck. I had to walk away a few times but persistence paid off. It could just be that the fitting has dirt and junk inside it and when you press the parts together they aren't completely closing? Sorry I couldn't be more helpful ARTMAN1308, but CTTURBODIESEL for you….that’s awesome your chicky is getting dirty right beside you, HOLD ON TO THAT ONE!!!!

I have heard of people using dental floss or Mechanics wire and wrap around the fitting and pulling tight and popping the line off. I just did one last night and i got lucky and did them both with just my hands. This is rare! I amost always have to use a small screwdriver.

The clip will stay on the tank module and the line will pop off......you need to bend the "Ears" back over 180* to pull the clip off the tank feed.
