fass fuel pumps

Can I get some education on fass systems. There web site doesnt say a whole lot other then tell me how expensive they are. From what I see one model is just a pump and then other is a filter and pump assembly?

thanks

I have the FASS II, 95 GPM. It is the pump only and is mounted to the bed frame and uses the factory fuel filter, which I feel is sufficient for normal day to day use. It also has a small in-line filter between the tank and the pump. The original FASS gas two filters. One for particulates and one water separator.
Probably, in most cases, the FASS II is sufficient unless you think you stand a good chance of getting "dirty" fuel...then the dual filter would probably be best.

You can look here for more information:

Thanks for serving your country and it's citizens. Be careful over there and come home safely.

Yup!
Original FASS has large fuel filter (available down to 3 microns... stock is 10) and a water seperator.

FASS II, actually a high pressure electric fuel pump, came out about a yr later and is just the pump part of the FASS.... using the stock Dodge fuel filter, but still eliminating need for the Lift Pump.

The 95 GPM model is all that's needed on ANY CTD... IMHO. There are some price deals out there...depending on your part of the country?

So can the FASS II through the stock filter handle 650 horsepower?

I run mine (95gpm filtered Fass) with the two fass filters plus the orginal factory filter(for heating fuel in winter) and even turned up roughly 450rwhp I can drop the gauge at the vp44 2 psi and then it recovers back up to 22 psi within a second or so and stays there through the whole pull. That would say to me that yes it can handle 650rwhp and long as your lines are all upgraded.

I have phoned harry at Piers about my " higher" than advertised fuel pressure and he says there is a restcition causing a higher number, I know of at least one other truck that runs the same psi, most guys say they are at 16 psi, but anybody that has installed a FASS pump in the last 6 months what are you seeing, I know they changed the pump internals (non replacebale brushes is what i heard) maybe that is the differnence. Oh fuel pressure gauge is 100% correct just in case you where thinking that.
