Red face FASS 150 Questions

Dan, if my FASS is too noisy, what can I do to fix the pick up?? The directions say the 95/150 might have pick up problems, what cause these problems. What is the average pressure drop on the 95/150. Mine is at 14-13 idle, cruising at 12, wot at 10 psi. What do you think about these numbers??

Mine was loud for a few thousand miles, but has quitened down a lot. The sound at key on doesn't bother me at all, and I can't hear it now with the engine running. I guess it just had to break in, or whatever. I was idling at 17, cruising at 16, and 14 at WOT. Now, I idle at 20, cruise at 19 and 17 at WOT. On a truck with 180K + miles.....fp is the least of my worries.

Mine is the 150 so it's loud and circulates more. They say the pump might be noisy due to pick up problems. I'm curious if that's what happening to me??? Just don't want to cavitate my FASS 95/150.

It's not hard to tell if it's working OK. You can hear when the fuel picks up, the motor sounds like it has come under a load.....kinda like a high pithced sound, then to a pulsating sound. I like to listen for it.

WELL im back...and glad i picked the hottest weekend this year in North Texas to move..... ....any who....you are not going to hurt it, so dont worry. What you can do is pull your suction line off the tank and pull the return off the return manifold. Then put both into a 5 gallon bucket of diesel. If the pump quiets up, you might need to address some issues in the tank. BUT Charlie is right, the brushes do take just a bit to ware in. When they finaly seat, the motor will quiet up somewhat.

Pressure seems good to me. Im around there on my 150/150. 14 at idle, 12.5-13 crusie, and 10.5-11 at WOT.
