FASS 150 fuel line quick disconnect

Hello everyone
I'm hoping to get some feedback because I'm sure not getting it from the people where I purchased the FASS. My problem is the quick disconnect at the fuel tank. I was able to get the factory line off (an old man shouldn't have to bend like that) but the plastic retainer stayed on. In the FASS manual it shows the retainer being removed, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it off without breaking it. Also the 3/8" quick disconnect that came with the unit appears to not have the black plastic release ring as shown and mentioned in the manual. So I'm afraid that if I go ahead a break the factory retainer off and install the FASS disconnect I won't be able to remove it if I have a problem withi it seating.
Has any one run across this? any feedback would be appreciated

I had a similar problem but I installed a drawstraw. I did notice tho that the picture shows the retainer on the new push lock fitting as well just like you said. I wondered the same thing so I snapped the push lock fitting on the old connector on the tank for S(&ts and grins. I think you use the connector without the retainer as it clips on once pushed onto the bung. The connector they provide has 3 prongs inside the end and seems to have a rubber oring seal inside that permits it to seal against the factory bung without the factory retainer. I pushed mine on and it seems to work. I didnt use it because I used a drawstraw but I did get it back off using a small flat blade screw driver. Try it without the retainer and it should work. I think you need to push hard and itll lock around the factory bung using those 3 tangs and the seal inside the aluminum fitting.

I have to mention that I had the truck bed removed so I could see what was going on in there up close so it may or may not be as easy with it on and the tank dropped. Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks, I did manage to get the old retaining ring off, I just needed some reassurance that the new connection was going to be tight.
thanks again
