FASS on a 12v? Benefits?

Sounds like it would help keep O2 out of the tank and provide better filtration...

Any 12v owners use one?

Easy install?

The 12 valve fuel system works excellent the way it is.
Why mess with it?

Becasue some of us need more fuel than the factory pump can deliver
At least to hear some people talk, the electric pump can make more pressure on pullers and drag racers where the overflow valve went "missing"

I personally can't see the factory pump not keeping up, but I've not been over 450hp yet, and never checked FP at that!

My plan is to run 1/2" line from the tank to the injection pump, using the factory pump, and put a water separator and 2 micron filter on the frame rail between the two pumps...if that doesn't work well enough, I'll plumb in a Walbro

I did some calculations years ago based on the rated output of the 12 valve lift pump-- 21 gallons per hour. The fuel lines can easily flow this although the stock filter is rated at 17 GPH.
Didn't do HP calculations but doing simple mph vs mpgs math came up with something like the 17 gph is enough to sustain 300 mph if you are only getting 5 mpgs.

What I was thinking, is that I'm shooting for 650+...most of the high HP 12v guys are at least running an auxiliary pump, as are most of the pullers, and I would assume drag racers as well.

I would also assume that if it takes 30-35psi stock, then it's gonna need at least that to make 600+...there is no way the stock stuff (lines, pump, filters) Who knows, maybe by running my 1/2" lines and bigger filters, the stock pump can keep up...maybe it can stock. Point is, the factory lines are junk...they can rust, the rubber parts can deteriorate, and the tank fittings are definate restrictions. I want to eliminate those problems before I have them!

I've always been one to lean towards overkill

We're running the big Aeromotive nickel-plated pump and -10 and -12 lines on the puller. Very nice, clean setup. It is a 13mm p-pump and we're pushing a LOT more than stock pressure to it, too, though... Like Chris said, a lot of that gets dumped back, too.

After seeing how much fuel squirts out of the return line even under a good load, Id say the pump pulls much more fuel than is actually used. I wouldnt bother with a FASS on this at all.
