FASS on a 12v
Anyone running a FASS on a 12v truck? The tech that does all my work was saying most of his customers have moved away from the mechanical lift pump and went to a FASS setup in order to supply more fuel for high horsepower setups. He seemed to think it was a good idea for the 550-600hp truck im shooting for.
Anyone running one on a 12v and what did you notice about the pump versus the mechanical lift? What pressure do you run the pump at? Did you find the stock fuel pickup became restrictive?
The first benefit I can see is the less suction side hose and connections to suck air in. With pressure side leaks at least you can see where its coming from.
I do see an awful lot of air on the vacuum side of the lift pump, but it makes sense entrained air would show better under vacuum. I run sight glasses on both sides since I run a veggie conversion and I need to watch switch time and fuel quality. Priming would be a heck of a lot easier too.
Im thinking of moving the veggie to the mechanical pump and using a FASS for diesel/biodiesel only. Would make my fuel plumbing much simpler.

Looks like youre running a lot more fuel than I am. At what point did you find the stock lift pump wasnt enough?
Did you route the FASS pickup to the stock fuel tank straw in the sending unit?
