....sounds like you are getting air into the system; You might double-check every fitting and connection, make sure the filters are tight; If you went with the QD to the fuel tank, that is a VERY likely candidate for a bad seal....
You might check your fuel gauge connection to the old filter, as well, and check that the old filter is snugged up tight.
Not sure why you ran thru the old filter, a T-connection and needle valve for the gauge are pretty cheap, and the old filter WILL be a notable restriction in the line; The FASS comes with larger ID hoses, and you're running through the old filter then to the IP with smaller diameter line.

Its runnin' like a champ now!!!
I think it was the air in the lines. I never drove it yesterday after getting it started, just let it idle. After a short trip she's coming up to pressure as expected. Thanks for all the help guys!!

When you turn the key on the FASS will pump for about 1 sec.
Then when you crank, the Computer will pulse the FASS to keep fuel pressure low while tring to start.
If you bump the engine, the Computer will let the FASS run for about 20 seconds.
The fuel you are hearing draining back into the tank is the return line you plumbed into the stock filler neck.
I would not run the FASS through the stock filter. Stick a 1/2" Pipe T with 2 1/2" Pipe Parker 3/8" Barb (Same as in kit) Push Lock Fittings to plug up to the hose. Then reduce the 1/2" Pipe to 1/8" Pipe for your gauge tap. That is the best way....OR you can tap pressure at the FASS.
We have never had an issue with the quick connects at the tank. If installed properly, they should seal fine. BUT you can connect the hose directly to the fitting if needed.
