Very, very clean look. Well done. My question is where did you get the grill? It is basically the same grill that I have on my 99 2500 4wd but stripped of the chrome and painted black. Exactly what I want. More to the point this almost exactly the blue print I laid out over a month ago for what I wanted to do with my truck's exterior. Same grill, roughly the same bumper, but with a winch mounted inside, line-x running boards so no more worries about rock chips and branch scrapes, black steel wheels and up on 35s for improved ability to deal with off road obstacles, stumps, rocks etc. The only difference in design is on mine I will be running the matte black Bushwacker fender flares. Again great clean job.

Looks like the stock grille to me. The cheaper trucks came with painted grilles.

Check out fleabay, just saw one for 46 bucks.

Looks like one to me as well, that's why I asked where the OP got it. Yeah, I hear ya on ebay. I have checked there and keep running into fine print along the lines of this fits your truck unless it came from the factory with a chrome grill in which case it won't fit as the brackets are different.

Hmm, first I have heard of it, I will have to look at my parts books.

I know the 99-02 Sport grille takes a different brace.

If you find a part number in your book for a black grill that will fit my 99 2500 4wd, diesel longbed, I would be grateful if you could pass it on. Thanks.

Here you go, from the parts books for both 97 and 99.

From the looks of things, the different bracket only is required on the 99-02 Sport grilles, which are physically larger.

The cheapo black Ebay grilles should bolt right on to a non-sport 99.
