faas or walbro

Ive read alot of threads on lp but not real sure what would be the best fit for my truck. I have a '01 2500 4x4 with banks powerpack, bhaf, suncoast tq valve body, and deep pan. The powerpack came with 4" exhaust cpm module,a set screw with a hole in it for the turbo, high ram air, boost, and pyro gauge. So should I drop some dough for faas or will the walbro help me out. I ve read a little about the faas giving you more top end which would be nice pulling a load but will the walbro do the same thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Your comparing apples to apples. Both pumps produce enough fuel for "most" bombs. The Fass has a water separator and filter kit, the walbro doesn't. I chose the walbro simply because, well, it was cheaper and I was done changing my last stock LP. I did get a pre filter for the walbro though. The install was striate foreword and would imagine both setups to be similar.

Good luck on your quest for FP.

BTW ~19 idle and ~14 WOT with my setup, not much I know but solid FP is such a relief.

Did you get the walbro in a kit? I'm undecided as well.

The FASS is available with a pump only kit, no filters. Either way, a good fuel supply is critical. Either one will do what you need.

I went with the walbro from www.glacierdieselpower.com . It works very well, 19psi. at idle and have not pulled it below 16 psi. I'm very happy with it.

I went with a separately purchased Walbro because I have this **** tendency to like to understand what I am doing, and think I can do it myself better than a generic kit would do for me. Oh well. And I paid less than the kit price in the end, and did get a better system.

Welcome to the DTR!
Both pumps have many satisfied customers and will solve fuel pressure problems. Do your homework to decide which approach to the solution better suits you.
Sent you a PM!

3rd Gens are using stock in tank pumps or a walbro, fass etc with a new draw straw into the tank.

What he said!

Also, 3rd Gen CP3's are fully capable of pulling fuel on their own (Chevy Duramax application, for example) much better than the VP-44 was. The two pumps have different functions, allowing for the difference. The question comes in fuel filtration and filter plugging starving the CP3 when pulling on their own, hence the inclusion of a lift pump. The CP3 IIRC is oil lubed again, so it doesn't need extra fuel for lube and cooling like the VP-44.

I just ordered my walbro setup from a few different companys. You can get the line kit and all the fitting that you will need in a kit from wideopendiesel.com and the pumpI bought brand new off of ebay. The pumpcost me 113.00 and the line kit was209.99 and that includes a big line kit for the filter to pump which does not come in the standard kit from glacier.
