F1 Hot Rod 370s OR DDP4s (12 Valve)
Anyone running F1 12 valve Hotrod 370 injectors? I'm leaning toward these or DDP4s. How do they compare power/heat/smoke? Are the HR 370s custom built to match your setup (pump/turbo,etc)? They're about the same price. I got my tranny in yesterday, and I saw a little jump in power, but I think I just need some stinkin' fuel. That's all I can figure. Tired of being slow and I think it's finally time to get some injectors. Seriously, I've got a crapload of money in this truck, and I can't outrun my brothers 04 Hemi. Not even close. And I can't even start to chirp the tires off the line. Thanks. -Josh

Your 35's are providing alot of traction so that is part of the problem. I know the HR 370's can provide 800hp worth of fuel with the right setup. With either injector you are gong to be looking for a new turbo.
Edit: Chris beat me to it.

Maybe I missed it but I didnt see a turbo listed, you'll need one. They both probably run warm with a sps62. I have DDP4's but have been having a lot of problems and havnt run the truck much with them yet. I got the ddp4's for 2 reasons. one there not modified 370s so the spray pattern was suposed to be better and cause less smoke and better cold weather running. I dont know if thats true or not. I think both have comperable power. Also the ddp4's have no core charge while hotrod 370's have a couple hundred $ core charge if you dont have injectors to send back. I was actually going to buy the 370's so I bought a set of junk 12v injectors to send back for cores. Its a good way to go if thats what you want.

Want a biased opinion? LOL
HR370's smoke less and run smoother than stock 370's. The spray pattern is fine north of 30 degrees of timing with stock pistons.
HR370's will fuel past 800 HP with a single turbo and the right pump. Past 1K with twins and a good pump.
Flow rate can be tweaked to set up. Some can be larger if you have a pump large enough to support those type of tweaks.
Typically a 180 or 215 pump will produce 520 HP with a box stock HX40 and 19 degrees of timing. The newer turbos like the HTT62, 64 or 66 is another 30-50.
Winter cold days can make some stinky tailpipes until the engine is warm. Once at operating temps, the are very tame.
Hot months with rack travel and AFC adjustment out of whack can smoke like crazy.
The only stronger injector is a Mach 4. They are very powerful and require we build you a pump to make them work correctly. Another 5K plus investment in parts and labor only with you supplying the pump. I used the M4's once to see what would happen VS the HR370's. 60 more HP and enough smoke that the fire dept was called out to the dyno shop by someone in the neighboring apartment complex who thought the shop was on fire. True story.

Well, I DO have the stock turbo on this old girl, but can't afford a turbo AND injectors right now. I don't want to have to buy another set of injectors later after outgrowing the ones I buy now- that's why I'm leaning towards these instead of DDP3s or similiar. I've been putting money into this thing like crazy, but everything has been to make more air and make it cooler, but I still have no fuel and no power to show for my investment and time. That's why I want to get the injectors before the turbo. I realize you kind of have to match the two. I spoke with DDP and they said I COULD run the DDP4s w/ my setup (ported head/cam/timing) but I'd have to watch the gauge and probably would get hot towing heavy. I thought I'd heard some people say the F1s run a little cooler and cleaner than the DDP4s, but is that a comparison of the 4s and the Mach 4s? Or the DDP4s and the Hot Rod 370s?
Don- could I run the HR 370s on a HX35 for a while until I switch up turbos? What's possible hp/tq wise w/ some HR 370s, 180 pump, and my setup, and what turbo would you reccomend w/ that? Thanks. -Josh

You can run anything with a stock turbo...but why?? A charger upgrade on a 12v is one of the best things you could do, IMHO. The fueling is so easy to get on these trucks...air is harder. You seem to already have most of that (airflow mods) done
Either one will make power...both will smoke massively without TONS of air or drugs. Go with whichever you feel more comfortable with!

With 12v's you can throw the "running cooler with "X" injector over "Y" injector arguments...there are waaaaayyyy too many variables to rely on that as an accurate comparison. This is all my opinion, too!

ID go with the DDP 4's for price, and because im not lookin for much over 550-600 rwhp...
Clunkmaster, air is a very nessesary upgrate if you add fuel to these trucks, and trust me you will not believe the difference a better turbo or twins will make on your truck

actually a 100 plate seems to be a good all around fuel plate. its a 0 up top and a 10 at the bottom. Both the hotrod 370' and ddp4's seem to be good injectors, you probbaly cant go wrong wtih either one.

cluckmaster,
have you thought about the new era 370's.
they can be had for half the price (unless you got a real good deal)
you can then spend the rest of the money sending your turbo to HTT to be upgraded to 35/40 hybrid.
this way you get both turbo and injectors.

If I were you, the first thing I would do is go with a 0 or 100 plate full forward. Your truck should be running with a hemi by then at least. My truck ran a low 15 sec quarter before the new lift pump, overflow valve modifications, and 4k. I think I can run a high 14 now. That should beat any stock hemi, but you will have to leave the line with about 8psi of boost. I also will probably be installing some New Era 370's in mine pretty soon, and then probably hybriding the turbo. So If I were you, id do something with your plate, and then if you want more, go with the New era 370's. gthey are a good injector for the money, and you can run them with a stock turbo as long as you keep an eye on temperatures.
