Like me, running the M4s with a stock charger in thinner air (6K feet).

M4s are perfectly mannered. I'm not sure I'd be too eager to tackle any kind of serious towing with them, but I'd bet it could handle a boat under 18' and most smaller TTs.

My really impressed with the real-world useability of the M4s. They always start just fine, even at subzero temps below zero. I've never had to crank and crank since I put them in.

This is with a manual trans and the larger turbo they come with (on 01 and 02 anyway). I wouldn't try M4s with an auto tranny unless it's 2000 MY or older.

I'm even still running the stock clutch (but it's not liking that, and is on life support) and stock exhaust.

Don't be afraid of the M4s unless you tow REALLY heavy (like breaking the law heavy), then drop down to the 1.6s.

Mach 4's are great! No problem with your stock turbo (Topper) with no towing.
Work well for occasional towing but I would limit it to 5000# or less. Above that with your automatic, you WILL run into EGT problems, IMO.
I towed 7700# on level ground at sea level with just my EZ (and a bigger turbo), and had excessive EGT's on any slight upgrade. Very manageable, but spent 3 hrs driving with one eye on the Pyro.

Aside from that, Go with the Mach 4's over the 2's or 3's. There the last injectors you'll ever need and will support as much fuel as you want to throw at them... up to say 600 hp!
