I run my ez on high all the time even when towing, with my 80 horse injectors. Now i get the best mileage i have ever gotten, with just the ez i was getting about 15 mpg with about 250 miles of every tank of fuel being stop and go driving, now im up in the high 16's to low 17's

I get better mileage with more timing (EZ or Smarty), but I'nm running 130hp injectors. If I remember correctly, the settings are #1 (left side) timing, #2 (middle) moderate power, #3 (right side) max power. I don't have the paper with me right now, I'll look after work to confirm.

you can probably change the mpg more by changing your driving habits than by changing the settings, but you might try each of the settings and let us know! i would suspect level 1 (if it is just timing) would be best with all other things being equal.

I found the best setting with 80hp injectors was far right closest to the case or #3, you really cant feel much of a difference between the 3 settings, although I did notice less smoke on #1 on a WOT romp.
I towed my 5th wheel on lvl all the time, no issues or temp problems, it was only a 25ft 5500#, so really not a heavy load

I forgot to mention ive had no egt problems on high either (I can run up to 32 lbs of boost to help out some). Ive had two 2-cylinder john deeres (60 and 70D) on a 24' beaver tail trailer on more than one occasion. That adds up to somewhere around 13-14 k lbs of tractors and the trailer title weight is 3900 lbs. the highest ive seen the pyro was 1150.

i have been playing around with this the last few tanks. i have a 01 with 80hp injectors and the edge ez. on level 3 i got the best mileage on the highway, with it on 2 i used less fuel around town but more at highway speeds, so i will be putting it back to level 3 today as i was getting about 1-2mpg better as i do mostly highway

I dont know if anyone knows the actual difference in timing, where are you going with this question?
