Question Exhaust System

Guys, 2 months ago, I ordered what I thought was a good deal on a 5" Stainless Steel Moto Blue exhaust system from RPM Outlet. The downpipe goes to 5" in less than a foot of the turbo flange it looks like from the pictures. Even since I ordered its gone up $100. I've really tried to be patient because it seems like a great system for what cost me $500. Problem is, it has not shipped from RPM to me yet...it's coming from China and I am really having problems getting a straight answer. I know a staright answer can be found because I am in the import dept where I work.
I am thinking now of just ordering the 4" Aluminum mufferless pipes from Rip Rook and putting a AeroTurbine 4040. Even with 5" Moto, I am probably going to add the Aeroturbine 5050 if I wait for the Moto Blue system.
Some have said the 5" was not neccesary but since the price was great I ordered it. Would a 4" system actually be better than a 5" system or is it just that 5 inch system is overkill ????

Unless you are going over 350 your stock will suffice, I would go with the 4in before the 5in unless you are going way up over 500hp. Goodluck,,Rick

5" systems are nothing more than bling for the average hopped up truck. Unless you are a racer or puller and are making 650+HP, you don't need 5" exhaust.

It's purely bling, can't beat laying in the throttle with a full 5" system, especially if it echos off a building.

Abbynormal,

Somewhat typical of what we hear at DPPI everyday on some vendors. ALWAYS be cautious as to who you buy from, Sponsors of this site have a vested interest in making sure you get what you ordered when you order it etc.

A well designed 4 inch system will support up top 500RWHP, so for 99.9% of folks it'll do all they need. If you want 5 inch go for it, just understand it'll be louder and potentially have soem drone. Check out the MBRP 4 inch systems, they have 100% welded hangers like the stock system and fit really easy, even have a one piece tail pipe too! If you're looking for low price but quality look at the AFE systems. Best dollar value out there!
