exhaust/stack questions

------
have some exhaust questions. I want either a full 5" exhaust or toying with stacks or single stack. would like some feed back on a full 5" compared to a single 5 or 5" stacks. I know the sound will be diff. but overall on EGT and throttle response and spool up. I have a full 4" now wondering what are some gains.

second question for you stack guys. or single stack guys. I have been looking at airflo.com and getting ideas. my question is when the pipe comes up through the bed how is the pipe held is it actually touching the bed as it comes up. my thoughts this would make a bad vibration. just wondering if anyone has pictures of there home made stacks and how it looks coming up through the bed.

i ran a full 5in on my 12 valve for a while but it had the 2200 rpm drone really bad then i went to 2 5in stacks that i think sound a lot better and got rid of the drone, as far as vibrations go, the stack systems should be mounted solid to the bed with a piece of flex pipe between the exhaust system and the stack system

I think most kits mount the stacks to the bed in two places, and upper and a lower

I did my single stack with a 1/2" piece of all thread from the top of the bed to the back of the stack and pulled the 90 snug against the bottom of the brace underneath the bed. even over bumps it wouldnt move. im deciding between the single stack and a 5in exhaust now... in the middle of fabbing my twins. still undecided.

for me the issue is its so freaking loud with the stack when im into the throttle up a mountain with a trailer behind me. its deafening! the downpipe for the twins is 5 inches so i was thinking about running 5 all the way back to avoid all the ruckus. im a young guy but an amplified stereo cant even drown it out!

well I dont care about the sound much I dont tow much anymore. but have either one of you guys ran a straight through exhaust with your stacks. wonder how much this would help with drone. also I know most people dont like stack rain raps. and I have seen some pretty ugly ones are there any out there that are really slick looking with out the big ugly hinge sticking out.

mine was 3 inch downpipe to 5 inch flex and to the stack from there... no muffler. drill a small weep hole in the bottom of the 5 inch and rain water will drip out.

5" turbo back no muffler. How loud depends on how close to the cab the tip of the stack is.

well I will probley be flush with top of cab. still toying with either single or dual stacks. I have noticed alot of kits for the single has a double bend once it goes through the bed. I dont want that I want a cleaner look with a straight pipe coming through the bed. I will probley just get 5" alum pipe because it is going to get coated black. to 5" through the bed 5" 90 elbo then 5" flex if run 5" as far as I can to just before the down pipe bends. with a 4 to 5" adapter. just havent seen a clean way for when the pipe comes through the bed are there a adapter/bracket plate that I can get? also what is the best style of bracket to secure pipe against the bed wall.
