Exhaust Question

I have been looking at getting an exhaust for my truck and had a question. I have noticed on the sites the 4" is good for up to X hp and 5" is pretty much anything above that. If I am stock will running 5" hurt me until I can get to that HP level?

nope, there is no disadvantage, or advantage. I like the look of the 5" and the sound.

true 5" looks better and sounds deeper than a 4". go ahead a spend the extra cash if ya want the deeper sound you will be pleased by it.

you dont even have to spend extra cash. go on ebay and get your self the 340 dollar (thats including shiping) expandit exhaust n be done with it. once you begin to add hp you wont have to worry about the egts geting high or too much back pressure

It won't hurt if you spend extra $$ for quality brand name exhaust like MBRP. You'll get better fitment rather than fighting it during install.

silver from my experience its just not that relivant when it comes to exhausts for these trucks. i put my ebay special exhaust on while the truck was still on the ground (its 2wd) and didnt have to fight anyrthing except getting the old exhaust out and it fit just fine no welding. so imo your jsut spending the extra cash only for the brand name

I definitely had a heck of a time installing a MBRP exhaust. Had to do some custom fitting to get it mounted up. Not only that, it came from the factory all bent up, every piece had to be bent back to shape to get it to work. I will never buy a name brand exhaust again. But to each his own.

Wow, that must have been a odd ball. I had mine installed in about 45 minutes after taking my time to install the rear hanger bracket. My buddies Duramax system was the same. No clamps with hangers or that stuff to go wrong, it just went right in..

Bent 4" pipe? Really? Who shipped it?
