Everyone with a 4" Turbo Downpipe.....

I installed my 5" exhaust (4" Downpipe) and the downpipe bangs/rattles against the bell housing. Did you have this problem on yours and how did you fix it?

Its tight on my 98 auto, but when I installed it I just had to center it perfectly between the frame rail and the trans before tightening it all down.

Check your motor and trans mounts too and make sure they haven't bit the dust.

I have a 5" downpipe on my truck (twins) and it had to be flattened in one spot not to touch the firewall (not flattened much though). I think it's more a matter of making sure everything is aligned just so. When I put the 4" downpipe on my '02, I just took my time to make sure everything was OK before tightening the clamps, and haven't had a problem with it in over 100k

I took my 4" downpipe off and flattened it a little on both sides so it doesn't hit the frame and tranny line.

I installed mine a few yrs ago and have never had a problem with it touching anything else under the truck. Only problem I had was the mount the exhaust slips into by the trans/transfer case wore out. Found this about 4 weeks ago, cause I noticed the tailpipe vibrating alot more than it should. Took a small piece of rod and hammered it in between the rubber mount and the steel bar from the exhaust pipe.
