error code reader
Does anybody out there in Dodgeland know where I can buy a reasonably priced code reader so I can keep up on my 1999 CTD?
I see so much traffic on "codes" that I am beginning to wonder if I'm getting these codes and don't know it.

Ahh Tehachapi,
There is an Advance Auto Parts or an Auto Zone right there off of 58, exit 148 or 151 I don't remember exactly. Across from McDonalds and right next to the Taco Bell. They should have an OBDII scanner for you to purchase ($35-$650), but they will most likely pull the codes for you free of charge.
How do you deal with the dense fog and ridiculous fuel prices? When I came through in February fog was intense and fuel was around $2.89, luckily I had enough to make it into Kingman and pay $1.96. I was told that the CA laws require all fuel stations to get their fuel from a CA domiciled refinery and that the eastern parts of CA get hit hard because of the transportation cost.

hey smokindog,
Tks for the reply. only I really live in Bear Valley Springs 11 miles west of Tehachapi. Fog is rarely a problem but fuel prices are the pits! I get fuel in Arvin, a small agriculture town 21 miles west of me "down" the hill a bit. Right now fuel is pretty much $2.49 a gal., but in Arvin two days ago it was $2.19 at a Fastrip. Honestly, I thing they made a .30 cent error and didn't realize it. I'll soon know when I go back for fuel in 5 days.
Shell Oil had a refinery in Bakersfield, and were going to shut it down (obviously to run up the prices) but politics interveined and made them sell the refinery to Flying J. This refinery presently refines 6-7% of all diesel used in California. It would have really put a dent in the supply side if Shell had it's way.
