What are you looking for street or race only. Most stock parts are modify to reach those numbers. I would stud the top and bottom for piece of mind and have the rotating assemble ballanced. Port the head add springs and cam. Injectors and turbos to match what the truck will be used for. This will get you well into the 500 hp range if everything is matched. Dont forget to cut the head or block for rings depending on what kind of boost you will be running.

I am looking for street use but I want it to be fast and reliable. I know this sounds stupid but what do you mean by studding the bottom end and top end? So you can put fire rings on the block and the head? Whats the difference betwenn O-ringing and fire rings? By springs do you mean governor springs? Is their a one stop shop online where I can buy everything?

If you are going to run 500hp, why not just leave the engine alone. The stock Cummins componens will handle 500 unless you are planning to run it there non stop. It would be a good idea to oring the head and use 12mm studs.

No I probably run in a lower setting on the chip. But I was thinking using twin turbos so I didnt know if I need to really beedf up the engine internals or not.

Some people like to cut the head for the rings and others like to cut the block. As far as springs something over stock on the valve springs if you are going to run higher rpm's or boost. If it was my motor witch it is not! I would feel better with head studs. I feel they are mandatory at that hp for reliability! And if you are doing a total rebuild new rod cap bolts, and main studs. I have not seen a main cap bolt fail! But on reassemble some of the old one had been over spec on stretch. And they had to be replaced. But i have seen rod bolts fail at very high rpm's! Every day these motor survive at very high hp number these are thing that will give piece of mind. I have seen trucks making over 500hp and still running strong with over 250,000.

Depending on what injector you choose you can tow at 450hp or dyno somewhere near 750 with the bottle. Its really neverending.

A 500hp motor doesnt require studding or for that matter girdling the bottom end.

I know several 600hp rigs that dont even have studs or o rings....

If you want the ultimate motor or whatever your going to have to drop the engine off at a shop that knows what they are doing....
Even then you wont be top dog.
