Engin over heating

I was driving the truck to work this morning on the highway and i looked down and my engine was running at 220 degrees. So I pulled over for a sec and it droped to 190 and stayed there the rest of the way to work. When I got off it did the same thing on the way back to the house. Could it be the thermostat? If so how much are they and where they located. I would apreciate any help.

Dealers price is about $57.00
Napa about $28.00 If you are asking where is the Thermostat located at
it is located at the end of your top radiator hose on block.

That's definitly a true statement. Check my gallery and see my radiator pics.
I also put in a Cummins 180*F t-stat. Just from reading other posts here, I'd stay away from the non-Cummins t-stats.
The Cummins P/N I used was 3967195, and I think it was somewhere around $25-$30.

I put the cummins 180* t-stat in mine and paid right at $50 from the local cummins shop. Gotta love shipping and handling and special order charges.
