Elect FP Guage Installation

Elect FP Guage Installation
I am about to install an Elec FP Guage. I have been told to tap into the valve on the bottom of the Filter housing with a tapped banjo bolt. Is this the right place and if I do this should I change all 5 banjos to high flow?. Ultimately I will add a comp EZ and 275 Injectors, do I really need to change the fuel lines for that. If so should I go with a new fuel line set up now like the scotty or the one on Janetty racing?

Kevin,
I see in yer profile you have a 2000 truck, the place to read yer fuel pressure is at the VP44, there is a banjo bolt there and you will have to put a tapped one in to get yer reading, also the fp senders are sensitive to vibration so if you get a brand new grease gun hose you can screw it into the tapped banjo bolt with the fp sender on the end of the hose, this will eliminate the vibes from the mighty Cummins. As far as fuel line up grade it is my oppinion that if you mod the truck you WILL need new lines so just do it now and get it over with rather than doing things in steps, If ya want to go one step further ( you will end up here in the end any way) do away with the stock L/P and install a FASS on the fram rail back by the fuel tank...........or you could do the RASP .......either one will be a great improvment over OEM setup.
Cheers, Kevin

Whitmore,
Thanks for the advice. I probably will go and buy either the Scotty Smart fuel flow kit or the one at jannetty racing
A grease gun hose can handle the pressure and the diesel fuel?, is this a long term fix

I just installed a Westach electrical fuel pressure gauge and mounted the sender away from the engine. I used a length of 1/4" rubber fuel line (Gates rated at 50psi) to make the connections. I think it's a neater look, since you can route the fuel line and cut it to whatever length you need.

I drive a 2000 and I used tapped banjos from Geno's on the inlet and the outlet of the filter housing. I run dual senders for pre and post filter readings. I wanted to keep the schreader valve on the vp44 in case I run out of fuel and have to bleed the system at the vp. I used 1/4 fuel hose from napa and I made a bracket to mount the senders to the fire wall.
