egts with sp66 turbo
on the truck in my sig. i want to run bigger injectors. i curently have 150s. but my problem is my egts are already high. i can peg my gauge. is it possable that i dont have enough fuel for this turbo. i tried to adjust my wastegate and it did nothing. i even pinched the line off and i still had low 40s for boost. before i traded turbos i was hitting 50 on my old sps62. and egts were in check. thanks

Hey old Dodge if you don't mind me asking what kind of temps were you seeing with the old turbo up and down the rpm range? I know you have a 24 valve and mine is a 12,I'm just currious??

People say a looser converter can help with spool. Having HTT put a turbine like whats on the super 62 on would help with max egts.
What were the temps? I'm sure you've posted it before somewhere, but how much of a difference did you see between the 64/14 and your current super 62?

Olddodgetruck, did you try wiring the wastegate lever arm shut to ensure that you don't have wastegate creep/ blow open causing you to lose valuable drive energy. My HX 35 was shuddering cause the wastegate was flapping in my truck and it also caused higher egts with my setup. FYI the wastegate tube was blocked off entirely when this was happening, drive pressure was blowing it open not boost via diaphram actuator. Just a thought, get out some bailing wire and wire that thing shut and see if your problems get better.

Its sounds like everything is in check. The sp66 is tuff on a tight auto. I have one on my 99 with a comp and big schied sticks. I cant drive up any mountains in overdrive at all. Flat ground it will get 1100+ on mild aceleration with box on 1x1. Biggers sticks wont solve the problem, a looser converter will help more i would say.

yea i have checked all thiese problems.ive been anking around and it seems like evryone has about the same temps with this turbo, i guess i will have to live with the high temps till i make a set of twins.
schoust with my old sps62 my temps were about the same when crusing. they could range anywhere from 600-1100 when going up a hill but when i got on it i rarley saw over 1400. where are you located in ct, there is a diesel dyno day this weekend in sekonk mass
