EGT's, Plate Sliding and Power
I recently (finally) installed my gauges. I had my #8 plate slid forward about 1/16" and drove the truck pretty easy, rarely punching it out, because I was scared of cooking the tranny. I found out that I could hit 1400* at about 2900 RPM's in 3rd gear and had about 34 lbs of boost at WOT. I slid my plate back to stock, my temps are 1300 max, boost about 30 but I feel like I lost about 40HP. My AFC might not be as far forward but should this effect horsepower that much? Is it time for a Scotty II? Bigger turbo? Will it ever end?? :

I don't have any smoke since I slid the plate back. Timing's set to 15.5. No cat. I'd like to be able to slide the plate up or even go to a #6. Any ideas out there?
