Egts

I was plowing the other night and my egts never went over 1000* but my concern is i have no plate and no afc and everyone says without them doing anything besides driving it will get hot??? I had 1000lbs of salt in the bed with an 8ft western plow going up some long hills to get to where i had to plow also.

where is your pyrometer probe? If it is after the turbo in the exhaust elbo then 1000* is all you want to see.

imo plowing with 1000lbs isn't much load on the engine. I never have to worry about high egts unless i'm towing 10,000lbs+ up steep inclines

and you said plowing... Usually means its cold outside because there is snow... Just something to think about. When I have my cold fronts in my cruising temp is around 150* higher then when I have airflow over my intercooler.

My probe is before the turbo but the plow blocks the air going to the engine trust me i never hooked up my trans gauge so it sits under and it never reads but with the plow on driving down the road or sitting still its at 180* But i have no afc or plate and everyone says egts get way out of control and no matter how hard i got on it they barely got over 1000*

Plus the plow blocking the air flow ,its like pushing a wall down the road
