How deep should I tap the manifold for the EGT probe, pre-turbo?<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Tim

 

Tap it till your fitting will stop tightening when its flush with the inside. I did mine last night ;D Drill the hole and all you can find instrustions elsewhere then tap a bit and put your fitting in check it then stop or go deeper depending on the threads.

 

Did you take the turbo loose so you could feel when it was flush?

 

OK take the turbo off undo the the downpipe and make sure to unhook the intake hose and intercooler hose you don't want ANY chips of metal in there. Then cover the turbo with a rag, the intake with a rag, and the intercooler intake with a rag. Stuff a rag into the exhaust manifold and then drill the hole. Carefuly tap it then use a shop Vac and a magnet to get ALL the chips out then insert the probe and reassemble.
