egt guage not workin correctly
hey guys
i was wonderin if any body had some ideas about my guage seein as how my egt's never read above 400 deg or go below 200. even from setting cold all night or romping down with a 14,000 # load behind me. Obviously i didn romp for too long not know the true egt's. had the egt guage for about a year and a half.....is a TST brand, worked fine until bout a month ago. i there is still function in the guage though, just downscaled to only function within that 200 deg. (cold start-200 deg.....running no load-250deg.........pedal to the floor-400 deg)
im hopin its a probe problem? i would think thats a cheaper fix.
i pulled the probe out the other day and cleaned it, no visible problems.
im stumped in my inexperience on the subject.lol
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Check your thermocouple wire and connections. If the two wires contact each other, it'll hang up like that.
Happens to me occasionally with my SPA, I have to pop the hood and jiggle the wire a bit and it fixes it right up.
