Somebody is pulling your leg if they tell you they have EFI live on a Cummins.

I doubt you would ever see anything close to EFI live for a 2nd Gen Cummins... I have about the same amount of doubt for seeing "EFI live" for the 3rd Gen's... the Van Aaken C5 is supposed to be close.

I wouldn't be so fast on that assumption...the capability is there to do all that now on a few cars...you can also tune motorcycles that way but ya won't be able to do that on the fly the only hindrance would be the age of our trucks, the newer trucks get most of the aftermarket attention...

That does sound interesting. However, isn't there a limit on what one can do with the ECM? Once you max out on the VP44 untapped, that's it. 65HP, right? So all you'd be able to change is, when that HP is developed. Of course this is not to say that playing with that wouldn't be fun! (Said me who doesn't even have the smallest of chips or mods in his truck )

With EFI you can control almost any part of the ecm, speed, rpm, fuel, timing, even boost on the VN turbo engines. You are still limited to the limits of the ecm, like rpms, the table stops @ 4800 rpms, so there is no way to fuel beyond that right now anyway?
