EDM's or Jammer injectors

Need to replace my injectors, so I figure I could use a little more power maybe 80-100 hp but I dont have a box yet and I do tow a horse trailer from time to time.
Can I run these injectors without a box and if so which would you suggest EDM's or the jammer type?
I know that once I have a box and injectors Ill probably need a new clutch but was worried I might be messing up by installing just injectors first.

thanks

I got Jammer IIs and its no problem running with the box off (just I like it on better ) I wish I went with a set of F1s Mach3 or 4s now though. From the reading I have done it looks like they are worth the extra $$

I'd go with a box first, then injectors. The box should have a built in bost fooler and come w/ a boost elbow, which you will need for the new injectors. If you go w/ a comp, then you have the ablility to control your settings, amount of smoke, and whatnot. With the injectors, you don't have any options except to run them w/ the truck on, or run them w/ the truck off. I went w/ a comp first, then some mach 1.5's and I couldn't be happier. I do admit, my stock clutch will slip w/ the comp on any level, but thats where my tax return is gonna help me out...Con OFE soon, real soon I hope.

Good luck,
Hunter

You will benifit more from a box then injectors at this point. If you have to replace your stock injectors you can usually find some in the classified ads for cheap or ebay.

If, as you say, you need to replace injectors anyway...For towing, I would recommend Mach 1.5's from F-1. Won't do any harm to do injectors first, but as DD4x4 said, box with a boost fooler would help reduce any additional smoke. Won't be much smoke with the 1.5's but will be more than your use to with stock injectors.....maybe not if yours are bad? How many miles?

Jammers have had problems in the past with poorly matched sets and they will smoke more. Don M. at F-1 is lattest & greatest for R&D on spray patterns and burn event durations, etc. resulting in lower EGT's per HP with less smoke. I would not have any others! Worth the higher cost, IMO.

One of my buddies is running 475hp with a set of Mach 2.5 and a TST PowerMax3. We finally got the injectors that work in his truck. This set of injectors is set #7.. The finally brand was Don's 2.5's. The truck run smooth, burns clean and the mileage isnt to bad either. On a trip from Stockton Ca. to Boise Id. he got 20 mpg going up and 21 coming back. I thought that was great for a 4X4 automatic.
I remember one set of injectors that I put his truck was a set of DDII's. Truck ran ok but it wasnt what he wanted so I ordered a set of Mach 2.5s. I went from 80 hp DDIIs to 110hp Mach 2.5s and also got less smoke and less heat.
They are worth the extra!

219000 + miles ,
Im sure they are well overdue.
Gunna look at Don's 1.5's sounds like they are the best choice.

thanks

Both Jammers and Don's are using EDM process. Industrial Injection, JR Adkins, Schieds, and haisley all offer EDM injectors. I am sure there are about a dozen more that I has missed.

Eletric Discharge Machine (EDM) is the process to bore smoother holes in the injector rather then forcing abrasive liquid through it to make the hole bigger.

I'll ad my .02
I installed Mach 1.5's last summer; have enjoyed them a lot, no more smoke than stock, and about 1mpg better fuel economy. I almost regret not getting Mach 2's, but would still highly recommend them to anyone.
