EDM's are in !!
Took out my Bully Dog II's and put in a set of Don's Mach 2 EDM's this weekend. Power has definately increased though I would say the biggest difference is the throttle reponse is much smoother and it seems to have a wider power range. Also smoke is about 1/2 as much. Very impressive!! Hats off to Don and thanks to Rod for all his help!

tlea,
I'm interested in changine my dd2's, probably for Mach 3's. It's intersting to hear your comments. One question for you. With the increased power, how have your egt's been affected?
Thanks
Chris

Tim,
Im glad you like them. I also want to thank you for your patience. I am soo behind the 8 ball right now I cant think straight. Im scared to answer the phone if it is Rod or Rip because they always have more orders.
Chris,
Electrical tape is your friend. Apply a small strip across your EGT gauge. ;D No more EGT troubles.
In all seriousness I dont know what turbo you have but, Im sure your EGT will increase with a Mach 3 over a DD2. Most guys are getting a 140HP with a 3 using a HX40 or B-1, not the advertised 125. Certainly controllable driving around or towing, but drag racing is another story.

Don, thanks for the info. I still have the stock hy35 now, but as soon as the opportunity arrises, the dd hx40 that's sitting on my floor will be on the truck.
Any speculations as to how egt's would be in the 1/4 with an hx40, mach 3's and a drag comp? I'm sure they would be high, but as long as there not insane, i'm ok with that.
Thanks,
Chris

Don. What stage would be = to a m370 injector or closest? and have you had any edm's on a 160 pump? I have a 94 dodge and with the 370's I'm haveing a bad problem with a jerk and lope from the engine with the 370's. I need a fix and I called two "top name" diesel places and they said no fix

Pretty Crispy. Guys with a HX35/14 and HX35/16 running them get to 1600 at the end of the track. With a 40 you can reduce that number and rate at which it gets there quite a bit. Heat makes the power...too bad its tough on parts
Placing my EGT gauge in the post turbo position helped me to overcome my EGT fears. No heat no problem
Of course there is always the safer route....go with smaller injectors...but then you dont go as fast.

Re:EDM's are in !!
With my EDM's I'll have to let Don Fill you in on the level ? I just got whatever he thought I needed! Anyways with the PDR 40 I have to stay in the throttle for a LONG time to hit 1500 with the 40 by then Im well over 120 MPH and Revving hard, and defueling. I have a B1KS on its way right now from Rod and Scotty which Im hoping to bring em down 100 degreese or so. PDR 40 is available Best offer.

Don't be surprised if the EGT's don't drop like you are thinking they will. I am willing to bet they will remain the same.
Please get back to me with the results, either on here, or via PM.

Re:EDM's are in !!
In fact the egt's may go up a little... Exhaust housing is smaller on the KSB1B.
However, the spoolup will be ;D

The housing is smaller, but the compressor side moves more air. We haven't replaced any Piers 40s, so I don't know if he offers better cooling than a stock 40/16, however we have replaced 5 or 6 40/16s, and in each case, EGTs dropped anywhere between 50F and 150F.
The B1's are a little funky in their behaviour. For example, on a long hill, you'll see a slow rise in EGTs up to a brief spike, and then you'll see an rapid drop to the EGT level where the truck will stay until throttle position is changed. As an example, when you first got into the throttle of Scotty's 01 HO, temps would peak to 1500F, and then immediately drop back to 1300F or 1350F.

Its not a B1B and its not wasted.

Then my statement remains the same as I orginally posted above. I doubt your going to see a EGT drop. I hope you do, but just going with a gut feeling here. Like I said above please let me know how it works out.
