Edge juice chip for 2001-2002 5.9 diesel
I have a stock 2001 auto and local guy wants to sell a Edge 75 hp juice chip for 2001-2002 dodge ram 5.9 diesel for $200. Seems like a good deal and a good idea. Any thoughts? Any negatives to installing something like that?

Edge Juice is more like a 100+hp box and not 75. The negative thing that some people talk about is that you have to tap the vp44(injection pump) wire to make full power and for some reason that seems to make them go out quicker. Another con is that unless you're easy on it, a box with that kind of hp could kill a stock tranny in no time. On the bright side, if he has the monitor with it you will have gauges.

If it is the Juice, that is 120hp box. The lower end box is called an Edge EZ. You can turn the Juice down, but you won't want to, and depending on the condition of your stock auto, it will kill it at some point in time (notice I have a modified trans..). It is is a great deal for that money. I'd buy it, put it on, leave it set low and start saving for the trans you will need eventually anyway. Once you save up the money for the trans, put it in, don't wait for yours to die. Then you can turn the box up, not worry, and by then you'll want injectors, new turbo...all the fun stuff!

I cant say good or bad about the quadzilla line, Ive always been an Edge guy, But I love my J/A and my EZ was a good little chip as well.
I ran my EZ from about 50-65k miles wothout any problems till I upgrades to J/A.

It's not the edge juice/attitude that causes the injection pumps to fail on these 24valves. It's the lower fuel pressure that causes it. Heck with my lift pump stock I would see ~7-9psi idle and ~1-2 psi wide open throttle, and that was stock for me.
