Re:Edge EZ - Switch-able ??
DTC is a fancy name for trouble code.
Not sure why the 0500 would be there, unless the VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor) was interrupted recently.
The 1693 is usually set in either the ECM or PCM and means that a code that particular "CM" doesn't care about was set in the other "CM".
If the problem doesn't exist anymore, 3 starts of the engine makes the check engine light go off.
Probably need to have the code cleared by someone with a DRBII.

Re:Edge EZ - Switch-able ??
When I had my Truespeed installed, my speedometer stopped working when the connections came loose.
Check engine light never came on.
After everything was working again, I did the check codes thing and got the same as you did, 0500 and 1693.
Just ran out to the truck to see if they were still there and they are gone.
Dealer might have cleared them when I had it in for oil change last, but I don't know why they'd be checking them to begin with.
Your's might just go away on their own as well.

The EZ makes two connections to the engine, one via the MAP sensor and the other via the Data Link. If you run the EZ with the MAP plugged in and the Data Link unplugged, it will act as a boost fooler without adding timing/fuel (ask Hohn, he's been running his EZ as just a fooler since he installed his
OK, before I fool with that, I'd like to be sure which is which. One set of wires goes to the connector that's down low and toward the front of the engine, and the main set goes to the rear of the engine. I know what a MAP sensor is, but have no idea of which one it is. What color wire is the Data Link ?? Thanks Lar. [/quote]

Re:Edge EZ - Switch-able ??
The connector down low is the data link, it's the one with three rounds prongs that you have to remove a dummy plug before you can plug it in. The MAP sensor is the one up high against the block, it's kind of a square gray connector with a piggyback for the real MAP sensor.
