Edge EZ

I took the Edge EZ off my 2001 and put it on my 2002 (Had to buy a MAP sensor adapter). On my 01, I had crazy power, on the 02 I can't tell the difference, what's up??

Assuming you don't have gauges to give a fuel pressure reading? Have you checked your codes via the 'key trick'?

edgeproducts.com lists different part numbers for the '01 and '02.

He said he has a map sensor adaptor... that should be the only difference in the EZ for the 2001 and 2002.

Interesting. An adapter came with my '99, but I don't think it will work on any other model.

I called Edge told them I had an 01 and asked if it would work on the 02. They told me I would need to buy the map sensor adapter (part #MAP2002) and it would work.

How much did it cost? I have two or three here somewhere.

Electronics for the 01 & 02 are identical... except for the MAP sensor fitting. 02 adaptor is all that's needed. Earlier adaptors are year specific and won't work.

On many of the the 02's, the Data Port is in a different place than on the 01's. Mine is way down below the ECM connector plate. Recheck all your connections... should work fine!

Data port was the connection I could not locate. That may be my problem.

Yep, that'll do it. If the data port connection isn't hooked up, the EZ is just a boost fooler - nothing more.

That would explain the 'lack of power'

Drivers side of the Engine block...just forward, and below, the fuel filter. It's a plate mounted flat onto the block that receives a 50 wire plug!

Look below the front 1/3 of this ECM 'plate' for another wire coming out of the wiring harness (that goes to the ECM).

This is where mine is, anyway.

Don't forget the Data port 'dust' cover has to be removed first. Don't ask why I bring that up
