I called Edge about my Drag comp not turning on until I cycle my key switch & they sent me out a brand new Drag comp version 10.8. I just had to try it before selling it & it feels stronger than version 8.0. My truck also smokes alot more with the box on kill.

I wonder if they can flash the Hot Juice with the new version?

The 10.8 software is a update for the version 8.0 Drag comps that had the problem where the box wouldn't come on until you cycle the key. I don't think the Juice had this problem.

I guess it was stupid of me but I always just assumed they had the same program.

on another forum, a guy just got the 10.8 upgrade and the comp still won't turn on when its cold outside (0 degrees). he had to cycle the key a few times for it to turn on.

What's the warranty on a Edge Comp Drag these days? My Comp Drag does the same thing, especially when the temps drop???

Mine does the same but if i start it and shut it off and start it agian it comes on, but sometime it will light up every other bar or just a random bar in the middle
Does it cost to get the chip upgraded to the 10.8 i believe i have the comp it has been in there for bout 3-4 yrs and had it sent back once allready

I called Edge a few days ago. they told me there was an upgrade for the older comps like mine. It is FREE. They told me they could make it a Hot Comp by adding the Drag Comp programming for 100 bucks. Is this Drag comp programming that is falling under this 10.8 Upgrade or is it the upgrade for the standard COMP? I am going to do the Drag Comp deal. is there anything I should know about using it vs how my current 4 year old Comp performs?

I'll try mine out in the morning, but I started it today at 23* & it is working well so far. If rumor is true the version 10.8 has version 7.0 fueling & updates for the on/off problems. Edge didn't charge me a dime for the new box, but if I don't return the other box within 30 days they will.

i've always been curious as to whether its a glitch or a built in feature to protect your engine before its warm.... just a thought

So it doesn't matter how old your comp drag is, they will replace it for free????

I know two people that have gotten this upgrade....and they are still having issues when it is cold! I haven't sent mine back yet, but if I can get a stronger fueling curve, I think it will be worth it. I never get on it until it's warmed up, but for that kind of $$$, I shouldn't be having ANY issues!

This "cold issue" has been going on since Jan 07, thread on TDR. EDGE????

Don't go thinking that it fuels way harder like a night & day difference. It feels a little stronger to me & power feels smoother for some reason, not as jerky & feels like it is coming in sooner. I may have just had a weak box before or something.....who else has noticed a difference?
