edge comp settings
I just installed a comp on my truck, and have not tapped the pump wire yet. Can someone explain to me the difference between the settings, so I know what I'm adjusting. I've been running 5x5 when I'm not towing, and 5x2 pulling 11,000 lbs. I thought the main setting was the timing advance, and the sublevels were the fuel, but maybe I'm wrong? She'll smoke like a train before the turbo spools, even on 5x2. I want to figure out how to tune it best for good towing performance but don't want to waste too much fuel, at $4.75/gal. Keep in mind, the wire is NOT tapped yet.

The Edge Comp features five power levels with power gains from 40-120 horsepower. Each of the levels has five independent adjustable sub-levels to control low boost fueling, providing a total of 25 levels of adjustability! The responsiveness settings enable you to dial-in the optimum balance between responsiveness and low boost smoke control no matter what additional power modifications have been made to the engine

Without the wire tapped, Level 1 is the only usable level. Levels 2-5 all require the tap.
As for the sub-levels, they control at what boost your fueling starts. I believe that 1 is 20psi and works down to 2psi for 5. So you should be able to adjust sublevels to control smoke and only use Level 1. Till you get the urge to tap...

Thanks AggieJustin, that's what I was looking for. I didn't realize you could only use level one without tapping. If that's the case, she's gonna be pretty nasty when I tap the wire. I did notice it took a minute to kick in, that must be the 20 psi for level one. Empty, it takes off like a rocket from about 40 mph on. This is going to be fantastic, it's getting tapped immediately. Actually, I feel my willpower slipping away as I type...
