Edge Comp and EGT
Some day I am sure Edge will have a comp out for the 2003, or at least I hope so ;D

What I am wondering, after reading all this talk on exhuast temps, is what the Edge Comp is doing to temps for you guys. Just a Comp with no other mods I am talking. Can you pull say 20,000# gcvw up a long hill at full power for 1-2 minutes at a time or does the pyro guage peg out right away? I want usable power that I can use when I need it. I guess what I am saying is what is the use of putting one on if I can't use it because the temp pegs out right away?

With a 4" exhaust and a BHAF, comp plugged in and turned on 2x3, I can put it to the floor from 0mph-115mph and never go above 720 post turbo (going pre turbo in the next 20 mins. ;D). With the comp completely unhooked and just running the 4" exhaust and BHAF, I can go from 0mph-55mph and hit about 850 or so post. I've never pulled anything though. But this is my experience with it unloaded.

Re:Edge Comp and EGT
I haven't had an EGT problem pulling my 7k= lb TT, but I run my comp on 2x2 or 2x3 this will get me up a 6% grade at 65 mph or more if I push it.

I see your running an HO 6 sp, I don't think you will have a problem, but you can't run it on 5x5, but you won't need to, you will just have to find the right gear, if you can keep the rpm up thats the key to keeping egt in check.

Running a drag comp on 5x5, with the stage III DD's, 4" exhaust, Kwikspool B-1 and of course the Scotty Air II that sucks COOOOoOooOoooOOOoOoooL Air and dragging a 24 ft enclosed trailer with a few thousand pounds in it ;D up about a 5-6% grade at WOT I saw 1375F for a few seconds and then it came back down to 1350, then 1300 at the top of the hill and then quickly back down to 900F on the flats at speeds well above the limit...for a short time. ;D

Flat ground (thats all we got up here ;D), DRAG Comp on 5x5, RV275s, Scotty II on a 2001 HO 6 speed, 20,000 lbs of hay on a trailer:
WOT in 5th - 1050F
WOT in 6th - 1250F
In 5th I can't remember what speed I ran up to, but I believe it was in the 75 MPH range. In 6th, I backed out at 85 MPH.
Our 2003's are going to be different animals though. EGTs are going to be a problem in a hurry as the airbox is a terrible design, and the smaller HY35 won't push as much air to cool things off. We'll be swapping airboxes and turbos sooner on the 03's...

It won't be as big of a difference with stock injectors, but if you had III's or larger I bet it would surprise alot of people

We've got some 03's out there putting 550+ to the ground already. It took years for the 12 valves and VP44 24 valves to get that far. That take any bite out of it? :P

Rod
