Angry Edge Comp/Drag Comp - Venting

Ok so I'll start from the begining...

Had problems with my Edge Comp. Called and got an RMA. They received the product at 10AM, and called me by 1200 to notify me of their findings. Even though the product is 3 years old, they offered to fix it free, and ship it back. GREAT SERVICE! So I finally get a hold of the tech on Friday so that I can have it upgraded to a "Drag/Hot" Comp. It ships Friday and it arrives today! Yippee, this company ROCKS!

So I went and plugged it all it, and it just as bad, if not worse than before.

Now what??? After other vender misfortunes today (nope, this wasn't the first) I'm ready to crawl in a hole and cry. I miss my fast Dodge, and I HATE having a gutless wonder.

I called them and left a VM. We'll see tomorrow I guess.

DD, The problem may be with your wiring harness or a bad connection. I had the same problem ended up being the wiring harness. Just my .02 Thanks Steve B.

I haven't found a chart for the harness, to ohm it out. As a result, I wouldn't know what to look for.

You know, and that would have been something I considered, but having explained my problem they told me to ship it to them. Also, after 2 hours with my device in their possession, they called my to tell me they found a problem and could "fix it".

I guess I'll go check the harness, but it's in GREAT shape. I live in the desert and it isn't like it's exposed to rain/salt/snow/mud. I mean, it still looks new.

Its the harness.
Ship them the HARNESS and box.
There is diodes in the harness that often go bad after a number of years.
A friends DRAG COMP (mfg 2002) recently went bad.
We sent the DRAG box back, they said it checked out fine.
So we re-install, no go again.

I called Edge again, they said send back harness and box.
Box came back again "fine" with a NEW harness.

Diodes were shot in the harness.

I had no idea there were/are diodes in the harness. I wonder why they didn't catch that. I asked them what to send back and all they wanted was the box.

Update:

Recceived the new device yesterday. Installed new harness and box in about 5 minutes. I think I'm getting pretty good at it.

Anyhow, just an FYI: The problem was indeed the Harness. They also shipped a new box (Drag/HOT) and all I can say is wow. An upgrade that is actually so worth it, I think it'd be dumb to not go all the way.

Mad Props to Edge Products.
