Edge or Comp?

Trying to decide in between the two boxes. How much extra could I dial in with the comp. without having to worry about my clutch or EGT. (no gauges right now) Looking down the road which would be a better a comp. box or eze with some 275 injectors? I don't want a race car, just something that can pull and be dependable.

thanks,

Re:Edge or Comp?

IF you don't want to step it up later a good combo is this.

1) Gauges boost/Pyro/FP these will serv you good
2)get the edge EZ
3)If you need more 275 injectors
4)Highflow air filter I hear the scotty 2 sucks coooool air ;D

That will pretty much push the limits of your stock transmission and you will have to upgrade it if you plan to go beyond these mods.

If you think you will want more down the road I would suggest do these mods but, get a TST or edge comp box instead of the EZ, then do the transmission, then get bigger injectors, 4" exhaust, bigger turbo, ETC...

Re:Edge or Comp?

Buy the comp and dont hook up the pump wire and it works just like an EZ. Later when you upgrade your clutch the pump wire can be connected. I had the 275's and switched to BD 2's. The combination of the comp and 2's or 3's will leave you ;D ;D ;D.
Tim

Guages of course.

Then get the Comp.
It is only around $100.00 or so more than the EZ, just don't hook up the pump wire till your drivetrain is ready for it.

99% of those who get the EZ first end up getting the Comp eventually.

phox

Re:Edge or Comp?

I recomend the Comp or the DD version due to being able to turn it off in bad weather. Its adjustable in cab even if you dont hook up the pump wire. Its almost as easy to install as the EZ. Just a hot and negative wire over the EZ plus mounting it in the cab. I mounted one in the ashtray. It was a little work with a dremel but ended up great.

Re:Edge or Comp?

Go with the comp and leave the little wire hanging. If you never hook it up more power to ya. I had my comp with no wire for 3 weeks and I couldnt take it no more. I bought a blue chip cover and ;D. I knew I had more power waiting for me.

Re:Edge or Comp?

I mounted mine in the ashtray also. Makes a nice, clean install.

Re:Edge or Comp?

Get the comp it's adjustable, set it whereever you want it. Get gauges first, they should be the 1st thing you do. This way you can see what the truck is stock and then what the comp and injectors will do. When the clutch goes just upgrade and hang on.

Re:Edge or Comp?

What phox Mulder said. May as well do it right the first time and save money in the long run. Comp box can be turned off where EZ can't, unless you do some additional modifications to the EZ. Every noticed how many EZ's are for sale in the classifieds? We all know why that is, owners all upgraded to a Comp. I had EZ for 6 months and then traded up to the Comp. Cost me more that way but well worth it. Now I am wondering why I just didn't trade up to a Drag Comp. Where does it end? We're never completely satisfied now are we.
