EDGE BB turbo ??

Alright guys I've searched and searched and can not find a "size" of this turbo. What is it? it seems as though its a huge secret? I mean you can buy one of these things for between 450 - 600 bucks NEW with the downpipe!

I guess my question is what would be the max HP range for this turbo???

Would it work on my truck very well?? Would it be a large improvement from stock?? Would it support my mods listed below plus lets say jammer 5's?? I NEVER tow anything at all not even a lawnmower trailer. The truck is a daily driver/toy/hot rod.

Mods are

HRVP44
J/A hot
Airdog 150
SBC 3250 DD

I WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE INJECTORS AS WELL!! but have not done so yet.

Thanks for the input guys just looking for some help. I could justify spending the 600 bucks on a turbo right now but probably not the 1200 plus on a different one .. any opinions are welcome. Thanks for the help!!

Not a big upgrade from stock. I believe they are only a 58mm turbo. Without injectors you would probably be fine but I think you would out grow it with an injector upgrade.
I have not seen them for $450 that is pretty cheap!

Yeah they are starting on ebay at 450 with NR and free shipping you can't beat that. Buy it now for 600! That sucks I was hoping for a cheapo upgrade to keep things going. Anyone out there running one of these turbos?????????? if so how do you like it and what are your mods etc??? keep the replies coming please!! thanks

I run one for awhile on an 02 with jammer 3s, drag comp, and later mach 4s. It would clean up the smoke with everything on kill. I did blow a headgasket about an hour after putting the mach 4s in though. I ran it with jammer 3s before and it did fine for me, it has a large exhaust housing so it spooled a little slow at low rpms. It made 50 lbs of boost with mach 4s and low 40s with the jammers.

thanks for the info.. Would you reccomend the turbo to someone interested or no?? How does this turbo sound??? Louder than stock?? How were the EGT's with it??? I mean in all the press releases it says the thing will support 500hp???????????????????? I'd like to be right at the 500 mark but will not be using that everyday. just thought for the money it would be a great upgrade.

Bigger turbos are always louder. You either like the sound or you don't.
Combination of E-bay and that price, I would be very careful. Something does not add up??

louder the better right?

I know what you mean... i have had nothing but good luck on ebay. The person selling these has multiples of the same turbo listed and they are located in ogden, utah. Same place as edge products. I may give it a shot.. just dont want to outgrow it too quickly.. guess i could always use it on a set of twins though ...

May be a factory close out? Cool.
I don't know that turbo at all but it never really made a big showing with members here??
Max HP claims are notoriously high, but at that price, could always get most of your money back, I would think.

Good Luck.

I liked the turbo, it whistled a lot louder than the stocker. It kept mach 4s and drag comp reasonably cool. It would peg the pyro if you accelerated up a long hill from 50-90, but daily driving the egts were fine imo. If it is an edge ball bearing for that price I would run it. You can always use an external gate and make twins out of it too.

as an FYI to anyone interested.. i spoke with the seller on the phone today and he assured me its an EDGE BB turbo with downpipe included NEW in the box with free ups ground shipping. the guy sounded very nice and everything and lives in the same place as EDGE products does and he said they came directly from the manufacturer ..

I think i'm going to go ahead and try one out.. for the money i dont think it can be a bad deal.. pay with paypal and your safe! thanks for the help and i'll keep you guys posted !!

yeah i just might scoop one up too. a hybrid hx35/40 will cost about that much and it seems that the BB turbos would be more durable
