ECM Locked after programming w/Superchips

Well hello and help. I reprogrammed my '98 w/with a Superchips MicroTuner from Safe Tow back to Hi Perf about a month ago after returning from a RV trip. Now I can't reprogram it back to Tow mode. It comes up and says "ECM Locked" and then runs through about 5 minutes of programming and ends up with "Vehicle has tuning installed" But the questions is, what tuning? I'm afraid to hook up to my travel trailer with it in Hi Perf Mode cause I've heard that it can overheat the exhaust. I'm running straight pipe.. So the questions is, how do I unlock the ECM?

1998, 4x4, ClubCab.

try disconnecting the batteries and turn the key on draining all the power from the electronics. let it sit like that for about 10 mins. then hook everything back up and try again.

Call superchips before you go to the dealer to have your ECM reflashed. They should be able to help you out with it, or atleast confirm if you do indeed need to visit the dealer.

Isspro gauges:

Or get rid of the Supercrap tuner and get an Edge Juice w/ Attitude or an Adrenaline w/Pulse. You can also see my Pulse in the pic.

Somebody's got a little too much crap to look at while driving down the road. At least you got them nice bright new headlights now.

wow, looks like the cockpit of the spaceshuttle.

If you can RETURN the Superchip!!!! and go buy a quad XZT+ same power levels, better customer service and you can download tunes specific to your needs for free all day long and as many times as you want to find what works best for you. I've been down the same road you're headed. If you can't get the schip removed from your ECM you will have to have it re-flashed at the dealer, just as I did. Yes, very important to get gauges, I have the commander and it's worked really well but there's tons of options out there, just make sure you install the main 3, trans, fuel psi, and egt(pyro).
