Illinoying Ram, We Are Not Complaining Just To Cause You Grief, I actually get a headache when I read passages with every other letter capitalized.

Guys, do you think the direct oil spray as opposed to splash oil bath technique has something to do with why a cummins engine usually has near perfect cylinder bores after 250K miles. I understand that diesel fuel is a better lubricant than gasoline by why does the cylinder look so much better after so many miles?

Sorry for the attitude, i didn't even pay attention to what it looked like to everybody else. I had the caps lock on when i was typing so it was all in caps, but i guess when i hit post it makes only the first letter of each word caps. I am just here to keep learning more things about the love of my life(so my wife says). Again, i apoligize. Tim

No Problem IL-- I was just trying to make a suggestion without making a big deal of it. Most of us had to learn the "etiquette" as we went, so we've all been new at some point.

This site isn't like most other internet discussion sites; the people here actually want to help you and not just quarrel. The quarrelers are warned and then shown the door.

We're glad to have you on DTR, and I'm sure you're going to really enjoy hanging your hat here. A lot of us have been on here quite awhile. (check out members Infidel and RowJ join dates!) There's a reason people stay here so long, and it's because we like the fact that a tight ship is run here-- the mods do a great and thankless job.

I can peg my guage out at 1600, towing all day at 1200 and my engine is still running fine.

I had the head off cause I needed to have valve springs put in. I didnt have the time to wait for the head to get o-ringd, so we used the cometics. Im to the point of thinking that the motor has 250k on it and if something happens to it, then I really have a reason to go bigger and better, even though I need the truck. Been runing a 4gsk most of last summer. Like I said, I cant tell you how many times I have had the truck over 1700* and held it there for extended periods of time, but it still runs great, no signs of excessive heat. We will see how it holds as the year goes on, bigger pump, sled pullin, and more high egt's.
