dyno tommorrow

I am going to dyno tommorrow for the first time. I don't have a lock up switch. The dyno is a mustang that is good for up to 2000 hp and torque. They said the torque will be accurate up to 10%. Do you guys have any suggesstions or advice??

Its brand new. Its at a place called genes auto sales in selbyville DE. They said it takes about 20minutes to set up the truck and about that long to warm up. What can happen if it is not warmed up?

diesel doesnt burn as efficiently at low temps. also head gasket trouble could occur because of the different expansion rates of the block compared to the head(even though the same material, mass is an issue). when you generate lots of cylinder pressure, on a cold motor, the gasket can fail easier than warmed up.

Have fun - Definitly make sure the engine temp is at least 140 and the trans is over 100. You'll probably do around 400 or so not sure difference between juice w/tude and my comp. Oh the slope gets very slippery from this point on . .. . .

I would drive your truck around prior to you putting it on the dyno, just so its nice and warm. I thought on the mustang dynos, you dyno with your lock-up off. I remember my truck ran that way on BD dyno day about three ago. I can't remember what PDR did for their runs. I ran my PDR dyno for about a half a day tuning the rig. Watch your pyro, boost numbers and fuel pressures. Make the most of your dyno time. Mustangs dyno work well for truck running HP around your numbers. Higher HP just smoke the tires because the mustang dyno loads the roller more. Its great dyno, some truck just haze the hides and you don't get a good number. A good operator would reduce the load to the lowest number so you can just spin the drum and still hook-up. If the shop is a diesel newbie, vary the load on the roller. Have fun, its a cool outting. Bring some popcorn.

I would bring my video camera but it is not working at this time. All I have is a digital camera at this time, guess I will have to do it again.

Since you don't have a lock-up switch you'll have get to about 70 mph in O/D before mashing the coal pedal to prevent the trans from downshifting.
