dyno results

what do you guys think about these numbers for my first dyno run after some new parts were put on.

263hp 646tq
213hp 568tq
284hp N/A tq

I have 370s, dodgzilla turbo, #5 plate pushed all the way up, 4 in straight pipe, afe intake, afc screw turned all the way out.

I was a little disappointed and want to go back on a dry day. It was also my first run on the dyno.

What brand dyno?
There is a large (33%) discrepency between the runs.
If it's uncorrected the 284 isn't terrible.
Converter too loose? Was it locked up?
Has the timing been checked?
Wastegate set too weak?
Boost leak?

That doesn't seem like much for all that you have? Does your exhaust ever clean up?

Thats seems really low, for the mods you have it should be around 350hp atleast, What kind of dyno was it? I have a few fairly stock 97 with just pump mods laying down 280hp+ on a dynojet. Your not to far from me either, give me a shout I might be able to help you out some 410-490-6075... Brett

there were two factors that i forgot to mention..i think. it was raining that day, so the tires may have broke loose on the machine. also they make the owner of the vehicle run it, and it was my first time, so i was a little on the easy side. i questioned the difference in the numbers and was met by, its ok. i didnt like his answer. the brand of the dyno im not sure of, my paper says dynojet winpep7. the shop is aca performance. oh yeah, i have a low stall converter (1900 rpm), and the ttruck runs like a top. no leaks at all. i mean she peaks 48 psi. i think thats pretty good. brett, where on the eastern shore are you? im almost always in md doing one thing or another.

you should have dynoed a lot higher like in the neighbor hood of 350.
i dynoed 256 with a 0 plate full forward and an really dirty fuel filter, with my converter locked in 3rd and i let the engine get down to 1000rpm and i just put it to the floor untill i top third out, but thats because my tranny is all stock except a lock up switch, and it was slipping already. if i had a built tranny i have no doubt i would have been pretty close to 300 and now with my 4" exhaust, and the truck timed i would bet i would dyno near 350 and over 750 for tq.

With my mods I made 394/783. I think some timing and gov springs would wake that truck up alot. You are not getting full use of all that fuel with the 370's unless you get the timing and without gov springs its just going to defuel itself anyhow. Probably the best $240 I spent was on the springs and timing.

Yes, the power put down was with the mods in my sig other than the stack. I had a full 5" system at the time, dont think it would have made much difference with my tranny slipping.

I agree 100%

I'd try those two, and maybe a different shop. The dyno operator works for you
