Dyno Questions

I had my truck on a Mustang dyno today. Did one run with TC unlocked, around 160 hp, 380 ft. lb. All other runs started from stopped with the TC switch in the locked position. Boost came up like it does on the street, over 30 lbs.

My max hp and torque are at 1750 rpm
252 hp
733 ft. lbs.

Does the hp seem low for the torque?
I'll have to post the graph when I get time, but the hp curve is flat up to 2300 rpm.

Thanks,

not based on the RPM's you posted. Only torque can be measured. HP is a number derived from torque. The equation is:

(TQ * RPM)/ 5252 = HP

As you can see the TQ and HP lines on any dyno map will always cross at 5252 rpms (but I don't recommend spinning your cummins that high...).

so in your case...

(733 * 1750) / 5252 = 244

so at 1750rpms, your HP is 244.

The pump on my 93 was rebuilt 2 years ago was turned up 10%, I went one more turn and backed the high idle screw out a bit.

I'm planning on a governer spring, which is sitting on my desk because I don't have time right now with all the punkins and corn bundles we've had to pick. A turbo is on my list too, but I don't know what to go with yet. Probably a hybrid with a larger compressor.

You may go to the hybrid at this point. I think when you start getting over 30 PSI you are pushing the limits of the stock turbo.
You may also try the power pin, that replaces your eccentric cone. It is suppose to give about 28 HP gain.
Have fun

I made what you could call a power pin, but its slightly different at the beginning, but its very similar. Wish I would have brought a stock one with me I would have changed it and tried it.

I don't mean to Hi-jack the thread, but can someone tell me where one can buy the pins at? I have heard of the ol' smokey pin, but can't find a vendor for it?

I think Piers or Bully Dog has one, I think you can buy one from Old Smokey if you can get in contact with him. Check this thread out. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...mokey+fuel+pin

Only see a 24 valve in your sig, you do know that the pins spoken of are only for 12 valve's right?
