Dyno Numbers - Drag Comp vs PM3 Comp
I finished dynoing my truck again friday night. Here's the setup:
99 2500 QC SWB 4.10s, Mach 6's, pdr40/b2 twins, DonM ported head, dd cam, fass.
The things that have changed since the first dyno are switching from 33" to 35" tires and from a TST PM3 Comp to an Edge Drag Comp.
Here's the videos. The pre-turbo pyro never saw over 1050°F. If you can't see the marking on the gauges, the pyro on the left's labels are 0-3-6-9-12-15, the boost in the middle is labeled 0-20-40-60-80-100 and the fuel pressure on the right is labeled 0-5-10-15-20-25-30. The speedometer is funny to watch.

Is that right Joe?

Didn't you also dyno with the TST Comp stacked?

Now that I've found a dyno capable of handling my truck, I'll make more runs. If anyone needs a dyno in the central Ohio area, Dynotune Motorsports is the one I'd recommend.

The ac compressor is only on when the heater is pointed to the last two postions. (Floor/defrost, and defrost). From the looks of it Joe only had the heater on the floor?

I did have one question about the graphs. I'm trying to figure out why the curve for the Drag Comp falls off so fast? I'm thinking of rigging an LED to tell me when the wastegate opens... I suspect that I may have a leak on the actuator hose.

Dynotune's up in a little shop off of Broad street between Alton-Darby Rd and Galloway Rd. Nights and weekends by appointment only... No wonder they were hard to find.

DynoTune Motorsports, Brian Turner cell: (614) 778-8984 or mobiledyno@aol.com www.dynotunemotorsports.com They charge by the run or the hour, which ever you need. He'll have to setup the dyno outside the shop since there's not enough ventilation to run diesels on the inside without showering the show cars in soot. Brian mentioned that diesels would need an appointment in the future and it would work better for them if we dynoed in groups. Ask to see his twin turbo mustang while your there -- he was disappointed that my truck made more horsepower until I reminded him that mine runs a slow 14.03 in the 1/4.

Would you assume with an EZ stacked on the PM3 Comp that power would come in quicker...moving the red line left of the blue line? AND maybe adding some HP?
Also, any info on your RPM's at peak power on each curve?

The bottom side of the chart would look about the same. I would think about 25-30HP more on the topside. The PM3/EZ and the drag comp fuel about the same speed. I had a few people along for the ride on friday night and they both thought the drag comp box fueled harder than the PM3 box on the street. (I'm still digging fingernails out of the seat. ) Both of them have driven the truck on occasion so I trust their judgement.
I emailed Edge to see if my drag comp graph matches up with their charts since I felt it should have kept fueling through 3200 and not fall off after 2700. I WANT MORE POWER!!!
On Edit: RJ, would you happen to have your dyno run files? If so, I'd like to see how the curves compare to mine.
