Duals on a cummins

I am going to be getting some exhaust here in the next month and thought it would be cool to have the dual setup not stacks but dual pipes out the back end. has anyone or does anyone run them i have heard they will take away power over a single pipe.

I've heard from a few that a single pipe sounds much better. I have no proof, but that is what I hear.

if you mean duals that angle out under bed sides at the back then yea its a good idea...but if you are thinking traditional straight out the back like the gasser V8's run then no. it doesnt look right on a diesel and it leaves you trailers and tailgate black. if they 45* out under the back corner of the bed then the duals are great. i saw one with the MBRP cool duals kit and it was extremely loud on both sides, and with the duals the tone is much deeper than a single exit.

Duel exhaust

I just put on duel 4" exhaust on my truck with stainless tips. Out the sides where the stock exhaust was. I can tell you that they sound awesome. Also seem to have more power.

I have been having Rip Rook's dual set up for about two years. I love it. Don't get me wrong, it was a pain to get it ligned up, and I had to modify a bracket, but I love how it looks. I never have gotten around to finding two nice tips for it.

My spare tire winch broke, and the swinging spare broke two of my hangers and I ran it straight piped for a while. I loved it and when I rewelded the hangers I left the muffler where it belonged...in the ATIC!

It sounds really good. As for performance, I'm stock with the exception of the exhaust setup and a Scotty.

Also, the little smoke I can get out of her, it spreads nicely with two pipes instead of one.

i ran mbrp's 4" dual kit when it first came out and all in all i perfer the single better. if you are hwy driving all the tim you should be ok but its a heavy system i think to be bouncing around under a truck.

dual are the way to go on any truck. the duals sound so much better on the cummins especially. now granted im not running the "usual" 4" duals, i dont see a whole lot of difference between the 4" and 6" duals, they all sound soooooo good . mbrp is a REALLY good kit, and i have also had good expierence with the bullydog system, both with no muffler.

I heard the MBRP duals on a LBZ dmax at WOT. They even sounded nice on that thing. Could only imagine how superb they (or any duals system) sounds on a Cummins-

I have 4" pipe with dual 24" long 5" tips at a 45 degree going out the back. Before that I had just straight with single pipe. It did, however, change the sound of my truck when I dualed it out. I got more power but I also switch to a 4" downpipe and all 4" inch pipe.

Yeah, I think duals straight out the back on a diesel don't look right.

I must agree with this, but also say heck, they look like on any pickup truck. My neighbor has them on his S-10 and yeah. Bleh. Funny I see a guy go down my street every now and then with a 7.3 PSD with them too, hope he doesnt haul anything
