I don't have a filter box for you, but I think you have a good idea. You might want to ask the 12 valve guys as well, they have the same filter box. I haven't heard of anybody doing this before, let us know if it works out well for you. What sort of plumbing were you planning on using?

That's alot of weight to transfer from one side of the front end and add to the other.
I would think an aftermarket air cleaner system would be less involved, more functional, and possibly less expensive.

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!
Not sure why you would want to do this but pardon me if I disagree with your idea. I suspect that in reality the air will tend to go thru the easiest route. In all probability only one air filter will work at a time. I cannot see that you will end up with cleaner air. At the most, depending on your plumbing and pipe diameters you may have a slight gain in airflow but the increased airflow will probably be so minimal that the engine will not produce any more noticeable power.
Scotty could perhaps answer this better then me.

not worried about weight side to side no different than somebody weighting 300lbs driving my truck. dont want aftermarket havent seen anything better than factory box for filtering, its just dont move the air. stock boxes stay queit, more water resistant than open filter, pull cool air from inside fender, andfilter better. still need a second air cleaner.
was tinking one ss 4'' y pipe and some hose clamps not expense at all .
i know i wont get cleaner air just more of it. i like paper filter over foam or oiled cotton.

If you want real low buck plumbing use PVC pipe. Check out Merrick Cummings' photo album, that's what his intake plumbing is. I agree with you that paper filters better.

PM the forum moderator (Jack Thorpe on this forum) and ask him to move it. BTW, it's not Merrick Cummings who's got the PVC intake, it's J.R. Adkins.
